HR in Nigeria is growing better and we are making the necessary difference and impact in the organisations we work for. Many organisations have come around the COVID era and embracing hybrid and full remote working. We are aligning our HR practices with the rest of the world. Our leaders and HR professionals are working globally and sharing their skills to support the business growth. I am amazed and impressed by the level of engagement going on across the HR space in Nigeria. I would implore our HR leaders to make efforts to interact more with their counterparts in the diaspora. There is a lot to learn and gain when we can meet to exchange ideas.
I am deeply astonished at the level of support received in the 2023 HR People Magazine Awards. It would not be kind to them if I did not mention the names of these organisations and individuals. I would like to thank Ejemen Okojie at IHS for her deliberate and intentional partnership for the 2023 awards. Her word remains her bond. Since the inception of the awards, THT has remained the company that has always shown support for the magazine and awards. I would like to thank the COO, Toyin Deinde for the partnership that has spanned over 8 years. We have found a home with THT and long may it continue. I would especially love to mention these companies for exceptionally partnering with us and ensuring that we sustain the HR People Magazine Awards. Sterling Bank and, Lafarge. They have been very consistent in supporting the awards.
I would like to say a big thank you to the 2023 partners Lafarge Africa, Cadbury Nigeria, Unilever, KPMG, International Breweries PLC, and Nestle Nigeria. I must mention 3 Individuals that have stood by us from the inception. Yetunde Kanu, Amina Oyagbola and Ayo Wuraola. You remain the bedrock of the awards. I am deeply touched and motivated by their interest in the development of HR in Nigeria through the support they have given to the magazine. I am grateful and truly value their unwavering kindness.
Enjoy the post awards edition of the magazine with Articles from Pai Gamde whose article titled Unleashing The Power of HR: The Path to Sustainable Organizational Success” highlights the importance of strategic HR and the role HR plays in business development and growth. The co-authored article by Ukamaka Chukwuji and Engr. Usen Udoh brings our attention to psychological safety. A piece that is different from your usual article. I did enjoy this one, I’ll recommend you touch base on this. Also, enjoy a piece from our own export to Canada and to the International Civil Aviation Organisation who wrote an article titled, Workers will change jobs for leadership! She wrote about the role of leadership and the responsibilities that come with it. Putting her experience into play.
It is confirmed. THE HR WALL OF FAME. This is not an award but a way of christening the achievement and support given to HR development in Nigeria by individuals. The wall of fame will cast the name of those who have shaped HR in Nigeria in stone a lifetime exceptional group that will not be forgotten. A wall that can be visited by anyone who wishes to understand our journey in Nigeria. I am deliberate about this. It will happen and will be hosted in Lagos. These individuals shall be celebrated and placed on the Wall of Fame. A brick for one, a brick that empowers many.
Thank you
